Healing Rock  Garden

Friday, June 10, 2011,  6-9pm

St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Dartmouth (just off Forest Hills Parkway)

The Healing Rock Garden was started 10 years ago because we wanted a place to remember our babies who died unborn.

We gather yearly to paint our baby's name on a rock and place this rock in the healing rock garden.

Many of the women and men who have participated tell us that they return often to pray at this special place for their babies and for themselves.

For more information, please contact us at

projectrachel_halifax@yahoo.ca, or 423-9955

Looking back on events we organized or were invited to attended

"With My Angel at the Manger" - Yearly we offer this time of reflection to families who have lost a baby before birth, due to a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, abortion, etc. are invited to remember their dear baby and realize the love this child has for them.

Project Rachel was asked to be part of the Social Justice program which the Youth of the Holy Trinity Pastoral Unit were hosting.  Since Project Rachel offers HOPE, we felt that would be a just offering to present to the parishioners.  We want to thank the youth and the parishioners for receiving us so graciously.

We participated in Volunteer Week at Saint Mary's university, Halifax, NS offering the idea of "Volunteering on the Spot."

Our Project Rachel team hosted 3 post-abortion support groups that ran for 11 weeks each -- with a total of 7 women and one man in attendance.

Healing Rock Garden!

We welcome anyone who is grieving the loss of a dear baby before birth, to join us as we paint our baby's name on a rock and place it in our memorial healing rock garden.  We supply the paints, refreshments and welcoming hugs.  If you cannot bring your own rock, please let us know ahead of time and we will have one for you.
