• I was particularly interested in the conference because of the medical approach taken this year. I know if I am to hold such strong pro-life beliefs in the midst of controversy, it is only right that I am armed with solid information, like this conference provided. The necessity for truth was brought to light in this conference when we were told of consequences to abortions that are hidden from the public eye, and especially to young girls when they deserve to know the risks of their choice. Or simple natural fertility options that are not considered an option despite their obvious success. This lack of transparency really bothers me - it is not good medicine because it is not good science.
  People from within the medical community, like the doctors who came to speak here in Halifax, are in position to make us aware and, God willing, eventually bring society to more honest terms. So thank you for inviting Dr. Angela Lanfranchi and Dr. Elizabeth Tham.
  
  I also appreciated the focus on all stages of life. So often pro-life causes are single-minded in stopping abortions, when I see it as a whole perspective of respecting life. This conference really drew out those values with great wisdom and true examples to remember.

• Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of such a beautiful conference!  I was so amazed at the breadth and the depth and the scope of the topics discussed!  I was once again humbled by the Lord. 

 All these years as a facilitator for Project Rachel and I still didn't "get it" until Saturday.  I, too, was focusing too narrowly on just one side of the issue.  Which is exactly what I often accuse others of doing!  I disapprove of the violent, judgemental tactics of some of the groups and yet I was almost as one-sided as I accuse them of being!  What a revelation!  You see, I had only looked at Pro-life in terms of the abortion issue!  It is so, so much more to me now! 

Each speaker affirmed this for me in some way...and I really, really "got it" when Sister Nuala said that we have to be concerned about all aspects of life (from natural conception, to early child care, social justice, poverty, mental health, palliative care) in order to call ourselves "pro-life".  I get it!  Now I understand my role as a Project Rachel facilitator so much more clearly.  The abortion issue is but one piece of the puzzle...not the whole picture!  Thank you for inviting me to see what you have always proclaimed.  I thought I understood  what you meant, but I did not.  Now I do!  Pro life is love!
